Welcome to Happy Tails Rescue

We are a not-for-profit, volunteer organization based in the Greater Toronto/Southern Ontario area of Ontario, Canada, dedicated to rescuing unwanted, neglected or otherwise unfortunate Bichon-Frise, Maltese, and other small breeds, and adopting them to new loving, permanent homes.

The majority of Happy Tails Rescue's volunteers have full-time responsibilities and employment on top of being 100% committed to HTR's rescue efforts. We are thrilled to share that HTR enjoys a wonderful 99% success rate in our placements when re-homing dogs in our rescue program into new forever homes.

We receive Bichons, Maltese, and other small dogs from every walk of life:

ᵒ  Owner Surrenders
ᵒ  Puppy-mills
ᵒ  Family Break-ups
ᵒ  Abandoned at clinics/grooming salons

ᵒ  Strays
ᵒ  Abusive Situations
ᵒ  Cooperating Shelters/SPCA's
ᵒ  Deceased Owners

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER - when we accept a dog into our rescue, it immediately becomes part of a foster family where it is loved and nurtured back to a stable physical and/or mental state and only then will it be adopted to a fully screened, loving family or individual.

If you know of a small dog requiring immediate rescue assistance, please contact Carol at carol@happytailsrescue.ca

If you have an adoption inquiry, please email us at inquiry@happytailsrescue.ca
