About Happy Tails Rescue

Rescuing Since 1999

Happy Tails Rescue (HTR) was founded in Toronto 1999 by Leslie Remenek after volunteering for various other rescue efforts, and causes.

While Leslie no longer maintains a directorship role nor is involved in the day-to-day activities of the rescue, she remains committed to the rescues’ success.

Happy Tails Rescue is NOT A SHELTER!

When we accept a dog into our rescue it immediately becomes part of a foster family.

Once established in foster care, the rescue is loved and nurtured back to a stable physical and/or mental state.

Only then will it be adopted to a fully screened, loving family or individual.

If you have any questions about adopting, fostering, or any other related matter, please contact us.

President & Directors

Our President and Director is a long time devotee to HTR, Carol Thorpe.

Carol oversees the day to day engagements for HTR and is highly involved in responding to inquiries for adoption, as well as the processing of new “guests” prior to finding them well suited, forever homes.

Carol is also involved in welcoming new foster parents into our program to help us care for our new furry friends or fur kids as we like to call them.

Judianne Keep, HTR Director, has been with HTR for many years now, and we were delighted to have her join the board.

Judianne works closely with Carol to process adoption applications, conduct home screenings, as well as, continue to actively participate in the typical rescue activities.

Volunteers Welcome

We have many volunteers—just regular people like yourself— and we could not do without their help, dedication, and support. If you would like to volunteer, please fill in our short form and we’ll get back to you.
